Aim

Raising £5,000 to fund a 3-day residential trip for disabled young people, with inclusive activities they wouldn’t otherwise experience.

About Buddy Club

For over 20 years, Buddy Club has supported young people aged 14+ with diverse abilities, creating a safe, inclusive space where they feel valued, understood, and able to grow in confidence.

We currently support 28 members, including 7 who use wheelchairs or mobility aids, alongside young people with hidden disabilities such as autism. Through fully accessible weekly sessions, our dedicated volunteer team helps each member build independence, develop essential life skills, and form meaningful, lasting friendships.

Our Vision

We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to feel included, to be challenged, and to experience the world beyond their everyday limits. Our aim is to remove barriers and create opportunities that many of our members would otherwise never have.

The Project

We are raising funds for our annual three-day residential trip, the highlight of the year for our members. This is not just a trip, but a life-changing experience.

Every detail is carefully planned to ensure full accessibility, from accommodation and transport to a high level of trained support. During the trip, members take part in activities such as archery and caving, experiences that build confidence, independence, and a sense of achievement.

For many, this is the first time they spend extended time away from home, gaining independence in a safe and supportive environment.

Why We Need Your Help

While families contribute where they can, the true cost of delivering a fully accessible and safe experience is significantly higher. Specialist transport, adapted accommodation, and additional trained carers are essential to ensure every young person can take part equally.

£5,000 will fully fund this year’s residential trip, making it possible for every member to attend regardless of their needs or circumstances.

The Impact

This trip creates more than memories. It builds confidence, encourages independence, and allows young people to see what they are capable of.

It also provides vital respite for parents and carers, offering reassurance that their young people are safe, supported, and thriving.
