Our aim is to raise £150,000 and to help to alleviate the effects of cancer for Military personnel and their families.
AN AMAZING TEAM EFFORT:
In September 2019, the Military Vs Cancer charity organised a 330 mile field gun pull fundraising event which spanned over 3 weeks. It involved over 200 members of the Navy, Army and RAF! (Here's some of them...)

OUR 2025 CHALLENGE:
This year, we've set ourselves an even more ambitious target..
Commencing 01 September 2025, we will take on a task worthy of those who have come before us. A combined total of over 1300 personnel made up of serving military, veterans and supporters will pull a 1-ton field gun from John O’Groats to Land’s End—over 1000 miles of grit, endurance, and sheer determination. We take on this journey because it is hard—because it represents the hardship, the battle, and the heartache that cancer brings to so many lives. This is our opportunity to stand together, to fight together, and to make a difference.
John O’Groats to Lands End!
This year, the fundraising event will involve a team of 29 military personnel per day, over 45 days pulling the gun to reach its final destination in Lands End! And you could be part of this incredible challenge!

OUR AIM:
Our aim is to raise £150,000 in addition to raising the profile of the work that our charity does to alleviate the effects of cancer for Military personnel past and present, as well as for their immediate families.
YOUR AIM:
To hit our fundraising target we need 45 teams, each consisting of 29 personnel to sign up for a day or more and to commit to raising at least £2,900 per team/£100 per person.
Of course, if you're up for more of a challenge, your team is very welcome to sign up for more than 1 day and to fundraise £2,900 per team, per day.

THE HISTORY OF THE FIELD GUN
In 1899, HMS TERRIBLE steamed to South Africa during the Second Boer War where she supplied some of her 6-inch and 12-pounder guns for land use. Captain Percy Scott designed mountings to make the guns mobile and they were transported overland to relieve the beleaguered British holed up at the Siege of Ladysmith. Ladysmith settled down to prepare for a siege, which was to last almost four months, with the remaining Gloucester's of 1st Battalion forming part of the defending force.
