Endometriosis UK is the leading UK charity championing the rights and needs of those with endometriosis. Endometriosis impacts on the physical and mental health of 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth in the UK from puberty to menopause, although the impact may be felt for life. That’s over 1.5 million who desperately need support and information to help them understand this chronic conditi1710826337_1710826337362.pngon, which takes an average of 8 years to diagnose.

We work to break down barriers and are determined to ensure everyone gets prompt diagnosis, the best treatment and support. Collaboratively with our community, we act to inform, empower, and advocate for all those affected by the disease. We strive to make change happen, to end chronic menstrual related pain being brushed off as normal, and to raise awareness with the wider public. We are here to provide vital support services, reliable information, and a community for those affected by endometriosis.

How it all Started!

September 2022 saw British Airways pledge their commitment to be the UK’s first Endometriosis Friendly Employer airline, achieving the full status in March 2024. A charity run for Endometriosis initiated the first Wellbeing story, from here we slowly started to build our community and champions. With this we have held successful campaigns to help raise awareness, host roadshows and fundraise.

Our Vision:

The British Airways Endometriosis Champions will continue to increase awareness internally and externally to our customers. We aim to hold endometriosis events in the future with panel guest, fundraise and grow our community to better the support available to sufferers. This will allow sufferers to flourish in the workplace, maintain their careers and for British Airways to be an attractive employer for endometriosis sufferers, knowing that this support network is in place.
