The heritage:
Our lovely vintage Village Hall celebrates over 90 years of hosting community events. Since opening its doors in 1934, there have been so many receptions, plays, meetings, dances and elections..and more, during the tenure of twenty Prime Ministers and the reign of five monarchs... most recently celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II and the Coronation of Charles III.

The future:
Moving into a Centenary decade a bright future lies ahead. With Wi-Fi, Broadband and a new website we enter the modern world. Supper Clubs, Art Exhibitions, Cycle events, Quiz Nights, Fairs and Festivals: rethinking the vintage village hall vibe whilst still enjoying the wonderful heritage of an original stage and sprung dancefloor. Earl Soham Village Hall Renovation Fund:
Sensitive renovation of the original building is underway and fund-raising achieved for an eco-friendly sustainable heating system and replica external doors to keep the heat in and the weather out ! Local company, Earl Soham Joinery Ltd. crafted three sets of replica doors to modern standards, replacing the old original doors. Newly-installed infra-red heating now ensures year-round warmth for our community hub, but this comes with high running costs, so the task now is to seek grants and funding for solar panels for the long south-facing roof which requires replacement of the original asbestos tiles. A huge task ahead for 2026: we need your help !
