Upgrade and replace Earby Cricket Club's practice nets and sightscreens to improve facilities & provide safe training areas for all members
Welcome to Earby Cricket Club situated on the Lancashire/Yorkshire border which is a community facility serving the residents of the town bringing together people of all ages and backgrounds. Since its formation in the 1850's the club has been a hub of the community and it has prided itself on its youth development by providing a welcoming environment to encourage sports participation and this is highlighted by our ECB Clubmark status which recognises the quality of our provision for young players.
The club has gone from strength to strength in recent years thanks to the tireless efforts of our many volunteers and club committee.
We currently have 3 senior teams playing in the North West Cricket League and 5 junior teams ranging from Under 9's through to Under 18's competing in the Upper Airedale Junior Cricket League and Lancashire League as well as running the ECB All Stars programme

As we look to the present and future its imperative that we have the best possible environment to develop and encourage the cricketers of the future. Our current set up falls short of meeting these demands as our practice nets which are nearly 20 years old are now in disrepair with holes in parts of the netting, netting separated from wire supports which is creating safety hazards whilst our sightscreens, an essential part of any cricket match, which have served us well for over 30 years are rotting, bowed and at risk of collapse
We are also looking at enclosing the nets so they can only be accessed when club coaches are present, meaning the nets will be secure, reducing the chance of them being damaged.
The project will :
- Replace the netting around the all weather practice nets
- Install lockable gates to deter misuse and vandalism
- Purchase 4 new durable sightscreens which adhere to ECB standards

If we can raise £6,927 from at least 25 individual supporters, Sport England through its Movement Fund will award us £6,927 to help us reach our target . Every penny raised will be used to ensure this project is completed and the club will be future proofed to provide facilities for many years to come meaning better coaching for cricketers, more opportunities for local children, and increased engagement for families and the wider community.
We want more people within the local community to get active through cricket at Earby Cricket Club and utilise the facilities on offer. To encourage more people to join we need training facilities and equipment which meet these needs so we're reaching out to ask for your support. Whether you’re a club member, a local resident, or part of the wider community, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could contribute to our fundraising efforts by donating to our project.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to our goal of raising the funds needed to deliver the project. These funds will go a long way in helping us improve and upgrade our practice nets whilst also allowing us to purchase new sightscreens.
Your support means the world to us. Everyone at the club truly appreciates your generosity!
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
Thank you for your support and lets make cricket thrive in Earby for generations to come
