Aim

Expanding our facility with specialized concrete and safety flooring to clear waiting lists and open more community sports sessions.

WHO ARE WE? Ealing Weightlifting Club CIC – Stars for the Future – is a community interest company based at Perivale Park Athletics Track, West London, led by Kazem Panjavi: an Olympian, IWF-qualified international coach, published author, and 40-year veteran of Olympic weightlifting. Since 1999, we have introduced over 1,300 young people to sport, strength, and self-belief, working with 28 local schools across Ealing and beyond. We are a designated British Weight Lifting Talent Academy. We do not just train athletes — we build pathways from a first lift to international competition, with a strong focus on youth, women, and communities that sport too often overlooks.

WHY ARE WE CROWDFUNDING? Demand for our programmes has never been higher — and we have run out of space to meet it. A growing waiting list of local young people and residents want to join, but our current facility cannot take them. Olympic weightlifting places unique structural demands on flooring and foundations that standard sports surfaces simply cannot handle safely. To clear our waiting list and open new sessions for youth, women, and adults, we need to extend our training area with a proper specialist base. This campaign funds the concrete foundation, steel reinforcement mesh, and high-impact rubber flooring that will make the extension safe and operational — nothing more, nothing less.

HOW WE'LL SPEND THE MONEY RAISED Total target: £4,000 — every penny goes directly to physical infrastructure. No management fees, no overheads.

  • Specialised Concrete Slab & Aggregates: £1,800

  • High-Tensile Steel Mesh Reinforcement: £1,000

  • Heavy-Duty Impact-Attenuating Rubber Safety Flooring: £1,200

The moment the floor is down, new sessions open. It is that direct.

COMMUNITY IMPACT Every square metre we add is space for another young person to find their strength. Expanding this facility means immediate new places for children currently on school waiting lists, dedicated women's strength and conditioning classes, and additional weekend youth development sessions. Olympic weightlifting is one of the most technical, disciplined, and rewarding sports in the world — the focus, resilience, and goal-setting it teaches follow our athletes far beyond the platform. For many young people we work with, this club is the positive, structured environment they need. The Perivale Park site is a shared community asset: every improvement we make benefits the entire athletics community that uses it alongside us.
