Marwa Relief has been set up to help those most in need by providing the basic necessities to help ease their hardship. This charity aims to be a beacon of hope in places where normal everyday life has almost become unbearable.

Our current focus is on Yemen, a country on the brink of a catastrophic famine resulting from nearly a decade of conflict. The UN has described the humanitarian situation in Yemen as one of the worst in the world with more than 22million in need of aid. Sadly, at least 1 child dies every 10 minutes in Yemen from malnutrition and preventable diseases. Marwa Relief is actively working on the ground to provide food assistance and save lives. We urgently need donations to help families facing poverty, food insecurity and lack of medical help. Donations will provide basic health care and emergency food packs to those most in need of aid.

Marwa Relief hopes to alleviate the suffering of many vulnerable families in Yemen and be a source of hope. This charity has been set up in loving memory of our beloved daughter Marwa.

Abu Huraira (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and in the Hereafter.

Food Parcel Distribution Ramadan 2024

We have recently distributed 324 food parcels during Ramadan to some of the most vulnerable families in Yemen in Lahj, Aden and Abyan governorate helping over 1,620 people. 

Food Parcel Voucher Scheme

Families receive food vouchers to care for their basic nutritional needs. The vouchers can be exchanged for goods at a local authorised dealer, who is reimbursed by Marwa Relief for the value of the voucher

Marwa Relief has already had good experiences with food voucher programmes in Yemen. Vouchers, as distributed here in Yemen, often provides more effective and longer-lasting help than does distributing goods: It can be offered quickly and flexibly, and beneficiaries can meet their individual basic needs

Medical Aid

Marwa Relief is working in partnership with Bir Nasir Medical Facility in Lahj, Yemen.  We have supported this facility for a number of years to provide emergency assistance and essential medicine to those in need.  

School Bag Campaign 
Providing bags with all items needed for school children can help them in continuing their education, provide them with hope, and a lifeline to a future out of poverty. Over 500 have been provided to orphans and poor families in the Lahj, Aden and Abyan areas.

£30 Cholera hygiene kit – This is an individual pack for one and can prevent the spread of the disease in places with poor sanitation.

£70 Malnutrition kit – This includes nutritious food items to feed a malnutrition-prone family of seven for a month.

£50 Food parcel – Families in Yemen are going days without food. Our food parcel includes enough food to feed a family of seven for an entire month.

£15 Pharmacy support – A monthly donation of £15 can support our free pharmacy and ensure that it stays open. Providing free medicine to those who can’t afford it.

£50 Water truck – Each truck can provide clean safe water to about 900 people.

£200 Water tank for a household – This will ensure that a family has enough water. Most families do not have access to water and basic sanitation.
