Dave Quigley: Perhaps you are unaware of Dave's story. Sadly, he was attacked in his home in October and died of his injuries in November 2022. A 15yr old boy has been charged accordingly.
Background: Dave was well known for buying joints of meat which he would give to whoever he felt needed it. It only became apparent (at his funeral) just how many people he blessed in this way. He must have given away hundreds of legs of lamb or turkeys over the years. And all without boasting about it.
A Leg of Lamb. Dave's first choice.
Our AIM: Dave was a faithful member of Liberty Church for over 15 years and so, in his name, we intend to open our Community Cafe in Birkenhead as a warm welcome space in the winter, providing free meals and refreshments to those struggling in this difficult financial climate. We aim to raise money so this can continue all year round so we can support individuals and families in need... Just as Dave did.
Sustainability: The staff, volunteers and members of Liberty Church have committed to include this project in their values and vision statements and make it a permanent service to our community. We will initially open up as a Sunday night cafe 4pm-8pm from 29/01/22 (provisional date- please email [email protected] to confirm or message liberty church wirral on facebook). The money raised will enable us to increase our opening hours.
Please give generously.
