About us 

The Cyclades Preservation Fund (CPF) is an environmental organisation that supports community based initiatives and promotes the preservation of the exceptional beauty and natural value of the Cyclades and Aegean islands.

Empowering local communities to generate sustainable solutions, it has supported more than 100 projects in 27 Greek islands and maintains a wide network of cooperation with dozens of notable local civil society organizations. Key areas of action include popularising seagrass protection, enabling community-led marine protected areas, fostering community engagement for wildlife rescue and protection, and enhancing local resilience and sustainability.

How the funds will be used

Funds will be used to reinforce vital community actions that safeguard our exceptional islands’ nature, driven by grassroots associations. From protecting and rescuing iconic wildlife species like sea turtles and wild birds, to tending to nature-based heritage practices like drystone crafts and ancient springs, and from bolstering younger generations with ecological literacy, to laying foundations for low impact tourism, local associations guide the transformative actions building movements for a brighter future in the Cycladic and Aegean islands.
