Help us grow our cricket club with our new women's and junior sides.
Crossgates United Friends CC is on the rise. In just three seasons, our men’s teams have earned successive promotions, bringing us to the brink of the Championship Division in the Yorkshire Premier League North. Off the field, our community is growing just as fast, with three junior teams, a women’s team, and more young players wanting to join every week.

We’re proud to be one of the most welcoming, progressive, diverse and ambitious cricket clubs in Yorkshire. But now we need your help to keep everything moving forward. We’re aiming to raise £30,000 to grow our club.
A cricket club rooted in inclusion – EVERYONE is welcome
Crossgates United Friends CC is a club where anyone can learn, get active, play cricket and feel part of something bigger. We provide free cricket coaching for young people aged 8 and upwards, removing barriers so local kids can pick up a bat or ball regardless of background or ability.
We’re also incredibly lucky to be led by Gian Singh Virdi, a trailblazer in English cricket. Gian became Yorkshire CCC’s first coach of colour, broke down barriers throughout the 1990s, and famously helped bring Sachin Tendulkar to Yorkshire, a landmark moment celebrated across the cricketing world. His inspirational work was captured in the multi-award-winning documentary Game Changer and featured on BBC Look North.
Gian’s values guide everything we do: openness, diversity, opportunity and excellence.

The funding will allow us to upgrade our playing facilities
To be eligible for the Championship East Division, we must meet enhanced ground standards (scoreboards, umpires changing rooms, shower facilities, covers, sightscreens – the list goes on). These improvements give us the chance to compete at the level our men, women and junior players have earned.

There are simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Donate whatever you can! From the price of a cuppa to a major donation. So even if you give us a quid – you're doing us proud!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Come and say hello! All supporters are welcome to visit the ground during match days in the summer season. Donate, then come on down and say hello!
This isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It’s about building a home for generations of cricket in Cross Gates. A place worthy of the people who make this club what it is.
