Aim
Swimming across the English Channel to re-open the Langton Community Swimming Pool.
I have come out of retirement, having swam the English Channel twice, to raise funds for the swimming pool at the school that I work as a language teacher, Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys'. As a community pool it provides swimming opportunities for two local Secondary schools, 19 Primary schools, 2 Universities a Swim School and several local clubs. All of which have not had the chance to access the pool since the pandemic in 2020.
From coast to coast the distance is 21 miles, but with tides and currents the exact distance will be longer. I am hoping to complete in around 15-17 hours.
