Why support CDCC?
We're a local cricket club who take as much pride in being there for our community as we do for our sporting achievements, and we are looking to provide a safe, accessible outdoor space for everyone to enjoy.
Why are we crowdfunding?
In the past few months we have refurbished the pavilion roof and the kitchen and have been forced to buy a new mower, which has all eaten in to Club funds. We need your help to finish the job. Because of what we offer our whole community we've been accepted by Sport England for a Matched Funding Grant of up to £15k – which means if we can raise £15k we get the full grant. I think you'll all agree it needs some serious TLC.
We want to go further, and not only level and rebuild the patio area, but increase accessibility with a ramp and make it safe for old and young, able-bodied and those with disabilities to negotiate getting into the Clubhouse.
We have also partnered with the RNIB and Guide Dog Association to raise funds and we are due to host 2 Visually Impaired Cricket Matches in 2025 as they struggle to find appropriate venues. We want to be ready to welcome everyone to the Club.
Additional Wishlist
To further support the Club’s ambitions to be at the centre of the community, we would love to be able to replace tired looking furniture both inside and outside. Additionally the pavilion floor and walls need replacing. Any extra we can raise will be put to good use – so we have set our target as £30,000. This is ambitious – but these improvements will last a long time and be good value.
How you can help
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Donate – the easiest way to show your support. Crowdfunding is partnered with Sport England to provide an easy way to raise funds.
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
