Aim
This project aims to provide a state-of-the-art hockey facility that will enhance community sports opportunities for all ages and abilities.
Who are we?
Our Hockey Club exists to be a Club:
- Focussed on social and competitive Hockey that caters for players of all abilities and ages
- That is a friendly and social organisation where people know each other and enjoy their membership
- That supports the aspiration for all members to participate to the best of their ability and at the top level for the best Senior and Junior members – whether through playing, coaching or umpiring.
The Hockey Club has an ethos built around its history and ambition to grow and develop, with it being part of the fabric of the Hockey structure in Tonbridge and Malling Borough, Kent and England for almost 95 years. There are also ambitions to surpass the former levels of success and become one of the key clubs in the community for the provision of Hockey at all levels, from grassroots to Elite/Performance sides.
Why are we Crowdfunding?
Our Hockey Club has been a cornerstone of our community for nearly 95 years, fostering teamwork, fitness, and local pride. However, the recent sale of our home ground has left us without a dedicated space to play, train, and nurture talent. We're crowdfunding towards building a new state-of-the-art hockey pitch that will serve our club and become a vibrant hub for the entire community. This will see us evolve into Kings Hill Hockey Club as the next stage of our existence. This project is crucial for maintaining the sport's presence in our borough and providing a safe, modern facility for players of all ages and skill levels, to Kings Hill, the surrounding areas and the wider Tonbridge and Malling Borough.
How we'll spend the money raised
The funds raised will go directly towards constructing a cutting-edge hockey pitch designed to meet international standards. This includes:
- Installing a high-quality artificial turf surface
- Setting up professional-grade sport-lighting for evening games and training
- Building essential facilities such as player dugouts and spectator areas
- Implementing environmentally friendly drainage systems
- Creating accessible pathways and entrances for all community members
Every penny counts towards creating a facility that will serve Kings Hill and the Borough for generations to come.
