Aim

PVT aims to expand accessible transport across Pembrokeshire, helping more isolated and disabled people stay connected.

Pembrokeshire Voluntary Transport (PVT) was created from a simple but powerful belief: no one should be left isolated because they cannot access transport. What began as a local community initiative has grown into a vital service supporting people across Pembrokeshire who struggle to travel due to age, disability, illness, personal circumstances, or living in rural areas with limited public transport.

Every day, our team and volunteers help people get to hospital and medical appointments, attend community groups, go shopping, meet friends, and simply feel connected to the world around them again. For many people, particularly those living in isolated areas, accessible transport is not just about getting from A to B, it is about independence, dignity, wellbeing, and reducing loneliness.

PVT operates a small fleet of wheelchair-accessible cars and minibuses across Pembrokeshire, supporting individuals, families, community groups, youth organisations, sports clubs, and local charities. Our dedicated volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, giving their time to help others stay active, included, and supported within their communities.

Our vision is simple: a Pembrokeshire where nobody gets left behind because of transport barriers.

With the support of this crowdfunding campaign, we want to expand our fleet of accessible vehicles, recruit and train more volunteer drivers, and reach even more people who currently struggle to access everyday life. Increased demand for our services means we urgently need additional resources to continue supporting our communities safely and reliably.

The funds raised will help us provide more journeys for people attending vital appointments, reduce social isolation, support community activities, and ensure more disabled and vulnerable residents can access the local world around them with confidence and independence.

Pembrokeshire Voluntary Transport works in partnership with RVS, who provide volunteer drivers for the RVS Country Cars wheelchair-accessible vehicle service, while PVT supplies and maintains the wheelchair-accessible vehicles used within the scheme. The vehicles are also available for self-drive hire by community groups and individuals, helping improve accessibility and independence throughout the county.

By supporting PVT, you are not just funding transport, you are helping people reconnect with their community, maintain their independence, and live fuller, less isolated lives. Together, we can make sure no one in Pembrokeshire is left behind.
