Community Child Mental Health Early Support Hub

Hi everyone, thank you so much for all of those of you have supported, thanks to teams from Balfour Beatty for venturing out in the cold to raise over £600 for us!

Demand for service has increased yet again as well as our astronomical energy bills. We are busy applying for funding during any gaps in the diary we have and we thought it would be nice to keep you all posted. 

We have launched a 25 businesses campaign this month, we are asking for 25 businesses to donate £1000 to help us with the energy bills - it's coming up to end of year tax wise so a good time for businesses to donate and reduce their income tax bill.

We've also managed to recruit a volunteer coordinator thanks to your support! Helen Simpkin is coordinating the community groups for children and we have sessions starting in two new settings very soon - we will keep you posted. We have also started running the 'Mindful Movement' 6-week course for children, it's a small group session of 10 children where they learn a mixture of how to use physical activity to help process emotions alongside activities, games and working through a beautiful Emotions Activity Book. We have our wonderful practitioner Richard leading on this supported by two volunteers. We are running this again after this initial run finishes.

Our weekly community hub for parents continues and is getting busier and busier, we even have some children who have been attending due to being off school due to anxiety, it's lovely to see them grow in confidence and watch inter-generational interactions make a difference. We love it!

We are working on a big application to help us begin an early support hub where parents and children can access support on the day without a wait! I appreciate this sounds like a pipe dream but it isn't we CAN make it happen and help children who are self-harming, scared to go outside and be seen, anxious and have lost hope. 

We can do it together.
