Fundraising Update

At the end of the first week since we launched the Christmas In A Box crowdfunder appeal we are delighted to have already raised an amazing £7,315 which is 29% of the total target.

Each donation helps us towards our ambitious target of £25,000 to provide 2,500 boxes of nutritious ingredients to feed 2,500 families in Plymouth at Christmas this year. That’s an estimated 10,000 people.

Every single £1 donated makes a difference.

We would like to gratefully thank every single individual, family, group or business who has donated and we value every message of support. 

A special mention also to local businesses who have made major donations to the appeal. Our thanks go to Services Design Solution, MSubs Ltd, Plymouth Citybus, Nash & Co Solicitors, Princess Yachts and Wolferstans Solicitors for your valuable contributions.

Excitingly, we have had lots of conversations this week with people and companies who are sharing plans and promising donations to the appeal next week. If you are making plans to give please get in touch with Louise Walsh at The Box as she is coordinating the fundraising efforts. 

Boxes Update

Chef Nat Tallents and the team from Fosters Event Catering have been busy promoting the crowdfunding appeal on local media.

Nat has also been working with brilliant local suppliers who are making sure the boxes will be filled with excellent, great value, local produce. More news to follow from our suppliers next week.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Pascoe from The Box, has been working with partners Plymouth City Council, Plymouth Community Homes and the Food Plymouth Food Action Network on plans to distribute the 2,500 boxes to those families around the city who need them.   

Thank you to all those who have offered their services for packing and distributing boxes, we’ll have more to say about plans for this in due course.
