Help launch Cherry's Festive Corner: a Wimbledon 'Warm Hub' to fight loneliness, support Crisis, and publish my memoir 'Foreign or Citizen'
From 'Foreigner' at 50 to £960k – Fund My Memoir & Kindness Festive Hub!
Seven years ago, I landed at Heathrow age 50, no English, no job, no family nearby. My daughters gave me one framed photo:
"You can do it!!! Woman, mother, queen we love you!"

Today? £960,000 revenue in ONE year for a British company. I am not just a dreamer; I am a proven business operator.
Now I’m building Cherry’s Festive Corner – a Kindness Hub with:

Every sale → donation to Crisis (homeless)
My memoir Foreign or Citizen → hope for every woman starting over
Our £12,000 goal is the proof of concept we need. Your £5 pledge isn't just a donation; it's proof to landlords and grant bodies that Wimbledon wants us

My Full Story
The journey from 'Foreigner' to 'Citizen' wasn't just about jobs; it was my true education. My time as a Live-in Carer was a profound immersion into British culture, history, and kindness. My role as an Account Manager, generating £960,000 in revenue, taught me the power of business and contribution.
But those roles also taught me the devastating, quiet price of loneliness—both my own, as a nomad in a new country, and that of the wonderful clients I cared for . That is why I left that corporate success. I knew I had to build something that was the answer to that loneliness.
This business is the living, breathing final chapter of my memoir, Foreign or Citizen. Some people see starting over at 50 as a failure; I see it as my superpower . It's proof of resilience, and this memoir is my love letter to every person who had to begin again—and a special message of courage for every woman who doubts her strength.
(You can read all the stories that inspired this mission on my website here.)
My entire journey has been soundtracked by one line of a song I first heard at Heathrow on my very first day . And in those quiet moments of doubt, I trusted Ed Sheeran’s words: Maybe we found love right where we are.
This campaign is my chance to build that "right where we are."

Our Mission: More Than a Cafe
But this isn't just another coffee shop or a place to simply buy flowers and balloons. We are launching Cherry's Festive Corner based on one simple principle: the 'Kindness Economy' . This is a proven business model, championed by leaders like Mary Portas, built on the idea that modern consumers are ready to put people and planet before pure profit .
This is why our mission is twofold: to be a place of ethical joy (our sustainable crafts and celebrations) and a 'Warm Hub' that actively builds community.
We don't just want you to buy from our shop
we want you to buy into our mission.

Why Crowdfunder?
This campaign isn't just about funding a business; it's about proving the demand for this community space.
We specifically chose Crowdfunder.co.uk because we believe it is the best platform in the UK to reach a community that, like us, truly values the 'Kindness Economy' .
Your support isn't just a donation; it's the vital proof that makes our future grant applications and landlord negotiations infinitely stronger .
You are proving that business and community truly can grow together.
