Crail Community Hall - New Curtains

Aim

Weddings in CCH bring income that pays our regular bills. The next improvement project is replacement curtains to enhance the CCH interior.

Who are we?

Crail Community Partnership acquired Crail Community Hall in February 2021, to make the hall more accessible and more frequently used. Hosting weddings in CCH provides income that helps to pay the core costs. To attract weddings we need to keep improving the facilities. The new commercial kitchen (£54,000) was our first project, then a new gas boiler (£26,000) and then refurbishing the main hall floor (£7,500). 

We now need to replace the curtains, which we believe may be 30 to 40 years old. They have become very fragile and tear easily.

They are a key component in the attractiveness of the CCH main hall, for wedding viewers and planners. 

They are also a key component in managing our heating efficiently. All users will benefit from this essential upgrade.

Community impact

Crail Community Hall is now much more frequently used that during its Fife Council years. We have added Friday lunches, Table Tennis Youth Club, Pickleball, Yoga, Barre, Pilates, Folk Club, Wine Club while keeping Badminton and Crail's festival activities supported. We now also host numerous family parties. 

Why are we crowdfunding?

The new curtain purchase and installation will cost about £18,000. We would like to raise a large portion of this cost (£7,000) through Crowdfunding, and will be applying to other funding organisations to cover the remainder of the cost. Showing grant awarding bodies that the community supports this project makes our application more likely to be supported. 

How we’ll spend the money raised

The money raised will be put towards the purchase and installation, which includes wooden poles and tie-backs, to enhance the appearance of our wedding venue.
