Hello from Cake or Dice

Hi, we are Laura and Emma, founders of Cake or Dice CIC. We are two mum's who love Card and Board Games and want to share our love of Games with the local Dundee community. 

As individuals we are both active within the community, both Scout Leaders, and are involved in different Community Projects. 

The Vision

Our vision is to create a Board Game Cafe with an Event Space available for use by local Community Groups. Our cafe will be a safe, warm and welcoming space for all, with a weekly activity schedule offering: classes, meet ups, competitions and contests.

With the local community at the heart of what we will do, Cake or Dice will be a registered Warm Space and Water Top Up Spot. Customers will also have the option to purchase an additional drink or meal which can be claimed by somebody in need.

How you can help

We are looking to raise an initial £15,000 through Crowdfunding, to enable us to secure a property within Dundee for the Cafe. We are currently in talks with a potential building with Cafe space and a separate event space which will be available for use by local Community groups such as Breastfeeding Groups, Young Carers and Charities. 

We will also need to fit the premises with a commercial kitchen, with equipment such as a coffee machine, Fridge, Freezer, Washing Facilities, etc. for the provision of Food and Drinks.

Any additional funding, over the initial £15,000  goal, will be used for additional shop fit, to include a retail space, Geeky/Alternative theme decoration and provision of card and board games which will be available to play.

The Rewards

Not only do we want to share our adventure with you, we are incredibly grateful for all help received and want to give rewards to everybody who pledges. We have a range of rewards available, with a limited number of bonus rewards for early pledges.
