It's time to get our Splashpad back! We are raising money to replace the beloved Splashpad in Burntisland.

Let's get our Splashpad back!

Finding yourself a bit confused? Let us explain.

Burntisland has had children's water feature on the Links for generations. When the traditional paddling pool closed in 1999, Fife Council installed the splashpad that was in use right up through 2022. The current splashpad - whilst obviously a bit worse for wear above ground - is facing quite a bit of disrepair throughout its inner works. It has reached the end of its functional life as-is.

In the summer of 2024, Fife Council consulted the community on replacement options for the site. These included two traditional 'dry play' options - playpark styles that most people are quite familiar with. This led many people to question - where was the option for a replacement Splashpad?

Many of you got in touch with the Community Council, as well as your local Councillors and MSPs, to voice your concerns. This led to a series of meetings with the Fife Council representatives, culminating with Burntisland Parent Council bringing their brilliant petition to the Kirkcaldy Area Committee to formally ask for the Splashpad to be replaced like-for-like.

And here we are - the Splashpad is set to splash again! Money to fund the project is coming from a range of sources, but it is understandably more expensive than a standard playpark and we are looking for the community's help to top up the funds.

Any help from you would be appreciated. Any amount, large or small, will help us create a splash pad just like how we all remember it - maybe even better.
