Why we are crowdfunding

1678091891_1678091893736.png

  • We are now needing to fund raise to build a new Club House, estimated to cost £1.5 million, because we have out grown our existing facilities, which are no longer fit for purpose.
  • Our new Club House will be offered for use to everyone within our local community, although on match days, it will be used by our players.  Indeed, our existing facilities are already used by other sports & hobby clubs, although the new Club House will provide a much better environment for everyone.
  • The new Club House will provide changing facilities, meeting rooms, a function suite, catering kitchen and a fully licensed bar, all of which will attract more participants to Rugby, as well as to other sports and hobby clubs.
  • With your help we want to provide a valuable asset for the club, the town and the local community.
  • We have outgrown our facilities and play at a high level of rugby. Having our clubhouse and pitches on seperate sites causes lots of issues on match days.
  • We also have problems with flooding from the River Severn. This has significantly impacted us financially over the seasons as our facilities have flooded (4 times in the last 4 years) and stock & equipment has been damaged and/or washed away.

How we will spend the money raised

The origional Club House (The Bull)  is currently being marketed for sale, the funds of which will go towards the money needed to build the new Club House, but we still need more than £1 million.

  • The money raised will go towards building the clubhouse and making it a community centre available to all.
  • It will pay for the much needed modern facilities, with kitchen, changing rooms, function and meeting rooms.
  • We also need to remove the existing buildings on the site which will enable more parking availablity and improve the green belt aspect.
  • Because the clubhouse will be built on stilts due to the flood risk it will improve the flood egress.

Work on the new Club House started  in August 2022  it is on track to be available for use by September 2023.

Commonwealth Games 2022

Creating a local legacy and to celebrate the Commonwealth Games!!!

How our project will be United by Birmingham 2022

The role of the community programme is to recognise projects that are delivered by grass-roots organisations that are having a positive impact on the communities that they serve across a diverse range of subjects. These include but are not limited to projects that; aim to improve skills, offer training, provide volunteering resource, benefit the environment, encourage participation in sport, or deliver youth engagement activities.

We are hoping to receive match funding from Sport England which is about creating a local legacy and to celebrate the Commonwealth Games.

How BRFC meets the themes of the common wealth games legacy

  • Bring people together : BRFC  embraces and champions the youth, diversity, humanity and pride of the Bridgnorth and further community.
  • Improve health and wellbeing: BRFC Inspires, engages and connects communities and rugby players to realise their full potential and live happier, healthier lives
  • Help the region to grow and succeed: Drive sustainable growth and aspiration; we will be creating opportunities through trade, investment, jobs, volunteering and skills. during the build and also the ongoing running of the clubhouse.
  • Be a catalyst for change: Transform and strengthen local communities, working together to deliver new and facilities.

Put us on the global stage: Players from our Mini and Juniors are involved in regional academies with the potential of progressing into the elite game of rugby.
