Aim

Bransbury Park’s Miniature Railway has served families for 50 years and needs its worn track replaced to protect this heritage.

The Portsmouth Model Engineering Society (PMES), founded in 1946, has proudly served the local community for nearly 80 years. For the past 50 years, our members have designed, built, and operated miniature ride-on locomotives at the Barnsbury Park track, providing affordable enjoyment for thousands of local families and visitors.

Our railway is entirely run by volunteers and has become a much-loved community attraction, inspiring interest in engineering, preserving traditional skills, and bringing generations together.

Unfortunately, after five decades of continuous use, the track infrastructure is now severely worn and in urgent need of replacement. Without this essential work, we risk losing this valuable community asset.

We are seeking support to replace the track so that PMES can continue to provide safe, accessible, and enjoyable experiences for the local community for many years to come.

Your support will help preserve an important part of Portsmouth’s heritage and ensure future generations can continue to enjoy the magic of miniature railways.
