Bradford Refugee Forum is an umbrella organisation for refugee community groups in Bradford. We run a Befriending Project alongside other events and activities.

Bradford Refugee Forum

Bradford Refugee Forum supports refugee community groups and individuals in whatever ways we can.

When refugees and asylum seekers first arrive in Bradford, it can be an incredibly difficult and isolating time. People have been forced to leave their homes, only to face navigating an entirely new place and a complex asylum system.

Our Befriending Project aims to be a turning point of hope.

Refugees and asylum seekers are paired with volunteers who speak the same language, who can offer a Welcome. Volunteers can then help individuals with their situation, and signpost them to the range of support available in Bradford - community groups, English lessons, legal advice, support organisations, groups that can help with food and clothes etc. The Befriending Project is welcoming and personal, and aims to help each individual find belonging in Bradford.

Alongside our Befriending project, Bradford Refugee Forum works to support Refugee Community groups. We run a variety of activities and events for people to get involved in - we also facilitate Community Groups to run their own projects and activities. One of Bradford Refugee Forum's main goals is to make sure refugees' voices are heard - and we are passionate about listening to people's different ideas to do that.
