Who are we?
We are the Border Raiders Cycle Speedway Club and we are crowdfunding to build a Cycle Speedway and Multi Use Short Track in Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders.

Cycle Speedway is explosive, fast paced racing on bikes with no brakes. Four laps of a short oval blaes track with four riders head to head and elbow to elbow, it makes for an exciting sport to race as well as spectate.

It's great fun and real grassroots cycling - we provide the bikes needed for the track so its accessible, affordable, and suitable for all ages.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We have entered our third year of competing in the Bridge Systems Ltd Scottish League. We have won the Junior league for the last two years running and are hoping to make it the triple this year.

In the inaugural Scottish Cycling Cycle Speedway National Championships we won Girl's under 12s, Girl's under 14s, Boy's under 14s and Women's Scottish Champions. Great results for a team training without a track!

To develop Cycle Speedway in the Borders and beyond, we need to have proper facilities to attract more riders. We want to have more adult men and women racing and a real track will allow us to do this.
We have already raised over £130,000 with funding from SportScotland, ClubSport Borders and The National Lottery Community Fund and have a shortfall of £100,000.
We are hoping to raise £10,000 through Crowdfunding and are offering our supporters exciting and exclusive rewards for their support.
The Multi Use Short Track will be a home track for the Border Raiders Cycle Speedway club to train, race and host national and international level Cycle Speedway events. It will also provide a space for learn to ride sessions, scooting, injury rehab and many other uses within the Borders community.
How we’ll spend the money raised
Your money will help us, along with other funding applications we have lodged, to reach the total we require for the track build.
The plans have been drawn up and submitted to Scottish Borders Council - we would love to have the support and backing of the future track users and community, and will provide rewards to those supporters as a thank you for your support
Community impact
Having affordable, inclusive and accessible sport is important. We provide the equipment required for Cycle Speedway sessions which removes financial barriers to access.
We have taken pop up Cycle Speedway sessions to various villages, towns and schools across the Scottish Borders and they are always a great success. Having a facility to hold more sessions will increase access to Cycle Speedway and increase cycling skills.
The Multi Use Short Track can be used for Cycle Skools sessions, learn to ride sessions, injury rehabilitation as well as scooting and BMX sessions.
How you can help us
There are some simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. We really appreciate any financial support you can give us towards the track
2. Spread the word. Please share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
