Aim

We are seeking funding for a free Disability Festival in Birmingham UK. As a volunteer‑run event, every pound raised doubles impact!

We are seeking match funding for the Birmingham Disability Festival - the city’s only disability‑led, volunteer‑run, free festival, created to celebrate disabled people, culture and community pride during Disability Pride Month (July).

We are £7500k short of our target - the full cost of the festival accessibility and inclusive features is over £18,295.

We have raised £10795.00 to date and need more donations to help us achieve our total target.

Led by Ways for Wellbeing UK's Nabila, Chair of the Birmingham Disability Festival Committee and Director of Ways for Wellbeing UK CIC, the festival is rooted in lived experience and driven by the belief that disabled people deserve visibility, joy and representation in the heart of the city. As one uploaded document states, the festival “showcases a wide range of disabled talent through performances, sport, interactive games and disabled business owners.”

In 2026, the festival will expand with the launch of the Inclusive Walk—a defining moment for disability visibility in Birmingham. Designed with disabled people at the forefront, the walk “is not a parade for spectators; it is a moment of collective pride, solidarity, and belonging.” This addition strengthens the festival’s mission to create public spaces where disabled people can gather, move and celebrate on their own terms.

We are seeking match funding to keep the festival free, accessible and disability‑led. As a volunteer‑run event, every pound raised is doubled in impact—supporting BSL interpretation, quiet spaces, inclusive activities, mobility‑aid‑friendly routes and the new Inclusive Walk. Your contribution helps unlock additional funding, ensuring Birmingham’s disabled community continues to be visible, valued and celebrated all year round.
