Aim
To raise money for mens mental health support group Bottled Up Blokes. We can help break the stigma around mens mental health
We all know that men just don't talk. They hold it all in, keeping it to themselves then eventually pop. This is where Bottled Up Blokes (BUB) can help.
BUB are a local organisation who help men by giving them spaces to offload via different services. Each week they hold 4 different mens supports groups and 1 football session which helps and support around 50-60 men within Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. BUB also have 'social sessions' where they take groups of men bowling, mini golf, pool etc just to switch off for a couple of hours. For the past 2 years BUB have taken 18 men each time on activity weekends and are doing it for a 3rd time in 2026.
In January 2026 BUB played their first charity football match against Derbyshire United and will continue to play games throughout the year.
The money raised by the walk will go to funding all the above and the extra bits to help run the organisation. Room rental costs, refreshments, pitch hire, facilitator training, clothing, weekends away, socials, merchandise etc all cost money and this walk over the past 2 years has made all that possible.
We are walking approximately 16 miles on Sunday 3rd May 2026 from Cromford to Pinxton, but this time we are finishing at The Boat Inn Pinxton where people can have a drink, some food and see some live music.
