Bewdley Festival provides a diverse range arts events to the community of Bewdley and beyond.

Bewdley Festival

Bewdley Festival dates as far back as December 1987, when a public meeting held in the Guild Hall agreed to launch an arts festival. Since then, Bewdley Festival has hosted an annual Festival of the Arts, which has so far numbered several hundred events, over a thousand performers and countless audience members.

Our Mission is to provide a diverse range of the arts to the community of Bewdley and beyond, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to access and enjoy the arts locally and to the widest extent possible. With a particular focus on community, sustainability, inclusivity, creativity and with a passion for everything we do, Bewdley Festival's vision is to entertain, engage and empower everyone involved - our members, audiences and performers alike.

Thanks to the continued support and encouragement of many members and volunteers, Bewdley Festival has developed and expanded over the years to become an eagerly awaited part of the Bewdley and Wyre Forest calendar. Recent events have included our children's story festival Step Into Stories, The Wyre Forest Young Musician competition, our Pencil & Paint art workshops and our world-famous Soup Trail! These all complement our main event, the annual Festival of the Arts which is held every October.

As part of our Community focus, we also recognise that access to creative activities (such as music, drama, painting, poetry, digital arts etc) can make a positive change to people’s lives, and that taking part in creative activities is now widely recognised as having a positive effect on many areas of life. It was for this reason we introduced the Bewdley Community Arts Foundation, which seeks to help local individuals and organisations in need of small amounts of financial support in arts based activities.

We are most grateful for any support we receive which assists us in our work, in particular where we have a specific funding objective such as Step Into Stories.
