Taking on The Aviva Charity Cycling Challenge to raise money for York Against Cancer
The Aviva Charity Cycling Challenge is an extended office campaign involving a series of activities designed to engage employees and support the local community. The campaign culminates with a cycling challenge day consisting of 4 varying routes to suit all abilities.
This September, Aviva colleagues are taking on the Cycling Challenge 2025 to raise money for York Against Cancer.
Whether it’s a gentle 10-mile spin or a 100-mile endurance push, we’re pedalling with purpose. Every route is fully supported with medics, mechanics, and motivation — and every rider gets an Aviva jersey to wear with pride.
Why Donate?Because every pound you give will be matched by Aviva, doubling your impact. Your support helps fund vital services for older people and cancer patients in our communities.

How You Can HelpDonate today and cheer us on as we cycle for change. Your generosity fuels our legs — and these incredible charities.
York Against Cancer is a local charity helping local people affected by cancer. Established in 1987 by three colleagues, Professor Steve Leveson, Professor Colin Garner and Mr John Craven, York Against Cancer was created to provide practical help and support for cancer patients and their families in York, North & East Yorkshire, and fund pioneering cancer research being carried out in the local area.

Over the past 38 years, we have raised more than £20million for the charity, which has funded a range of support services including a free minibus that takes people from York to St. James’s Hospital in Leeds for radiotherapy appointments, free short breaks in our two luxury respite properties to help people recuperate from cancer treatment, free, tailored exercise classes for cancer patients and The Leveson Centre, our cancer support centre which is available for anyone affected by cancer to pop in and have a cuppa and make use of our holistic services and activities.
We are proud to have funded a range of medical innovations, such as Yorkshire’s first Mobile Chemotherapy Unit and York Hospital’s surgical robot, and pioneering research at the Jack Birch Unit at the University of York, which has been internationally recognised for its ground-breaking research into bladder cancer.
As a charity, we continue to grow and develop our services all thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts and donations we receive from individuals, groups, schools, organisations and businesses. Our aims today are the same as they were when the charity was founded - to support as many people affected by cancer as possible.
