Since the 17th of April our dear friend Audrey Corno has been detained at Bronzefield prison as a political prisoner. Audrey who is only 22 has been repeatedly denied bail. She is imprisoned without trial for taking action at GRID Defence Systems. She shut down their production and cut off their supply of military hardware to Elbit, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. The severity of the punishment is a clear abuse of power intending to discourage others from taking action for Palestine and challenge our government's complicity. Audrey is the warmest, kindest, most compassionate soul who works with young people educating them on activism and participation and as a theatre facilitator with children and adults with learning disabilities, hoping to make change through theatre. Currently however she is being treated as a threat by the corrupt and complicit British authorities. Audrey is being punished for her compassion for those suffering at the hands of Israel’s colonial occupation. She is being treated as a criminal for refusing to sit idly by witnessing the ongoing genocide, brutal ethnic cleansing and mass torture of the Palestinian people. She is a shining light among us whose steadfast determination for justice and care for those most marginalised has motivated her to take action at the cost of her own liberty.
Where donations will go
Donations at this time are essential and will be used to support Audrey with legal fees, go towards her commissary account ensuring she can access necessities while in prison. Finally donations will go towards her rent to ensure she has a place to come home to and money for living expenses once she is released. Supporting Audrey financially is one way we can counteract the unjust and dehumanising imprisonment she is facing, and enable her to receive the legal defence that will hopefully help ensure her release.

Audrey’s imprisonment is part of a much larger issue, colonial tactics ensure that those who resist the stronghold of white supremacy and imperialism in any way are punished and vilified under fear mongering and fascistic pretenses. We can divest from this in a small way by ensuring Audrey and others are afforded the best legal defence possible and are supported by community that opposes the backwards primitive systems that insist on their imprisonment.
