Half marathon Andy Taylor Foundation fundraiser

Aim

I'm running the Lee Valley Half Marathon on March 26 to raise funds for The Andy Taylor Foundation.

I got to know Andy when he was heading up digital media at Channel 4 and I was in my first job as a journalist at New Media Age. He was a lovely man, always willing to share his knowledge and excitement, and a true pioneer and innovator in his space.

I continued to follow his career as he moved to All3Media and then set up Little Dot Studios, while he was a keen supporter of the work I went on to do with C21Media's FutureMedia magazine and conference. This enthusiasm and warmth extended to all those in his orbit, and I was lucky enough to catch up with many of them at the launch of The Andy Taylor Foundation – a charity set up to honour his legacy and help young people from diverse backgrounds break into the digital media industry.

I didn't know Andy was ill and never got a chance to say goodbye or pay tribute to him so this is mine. Any contribution you can give to a great cause would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.
