Done!
Hi all, just to let you know the run is done! Bit of a wet one but worth it. Went the wrong way at one point so ended up doing 14 miles instead of 13.1 but all good. For you Andy, your family, friends and the Foundation. Thanks again all for your support and helping me smash my fundraising target!

The day before
Hi all, I just wanted to say a huge thank you once again for your support. On the eve of the run, I have already smashed through my fundraising target and am just a few quid away from doubling it, which is amazing. I'm not asking you to contribute again but if you can think of anyone in your network who might help with this final push to get me over that line, then please give them a friendly nudge as this would be truly incredible. I am going out for a curry tonight, which I'm not sure is strict pre-half-marathon diet preparation, but if I don't manage to run like the wind then I will almost certainly be running with it! I got to know Andy when he was heading up digital media at Channel 4 and I was in my first job as a journalist at New Media Age. He was a lovely man, always willing to share his knowledge and excitement, and a true pioneer and innovator in his space.
I continued to follow his career as he moved to All3Media and then set up Little Dot Studios, while he was a keen supporter of the work I went on to do with C21Media's FutureMedia magazine and conference. This enthusiasm and warmth extended to all those in his orbit, and I was lucky enough to catch up with many of them at the launch of The Andy Taylor Foundation – a charity set up to honour his legacy and help young people from diverse backgrounds break into the digital media industry.
I didn't know Andy was ill and never got a chance to say goodbye or pay tribute to him so this is mine. Any contribution you can give to a great cause would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.
