Help us keep a Wemyss Cat for the collections.

Aim

We would like your help to acquire one of the CatTrail Wemyss Ware Cats to bring it inside and give it a permanent home in the collections.

Friends of Kirkcaldy Galleries have been supporting the local museum and art gallery for over 33 years. Through various fundraising activities we have assisted with the development and maintenance of the museum collections. The recent Wemyss Ware Cat Trail was a huge success and we would like to keep a cat in Kirkcaldy. The yellow Gallé Cat has been part of the Cat Trail sitting outside of the Galleries and is our mascot. We would like your help to bring the cat inside and give it a new home in the collections.  Keeping one of the cats would be a great legacy for the local community.  We are asking for your help to secure a cat at the auction to take place on 3rd October 2026.  If the Friends are unable to acquire a cat, if insufficient funds are raised to complete the purchase, or if the appeal raises more than is required to cover the purchase and associated costs, any funds remaining will be used by the Friends of Kirkcaldy Galleries to support the acquisition and care of other items for the Kirkcaldy Galleries collections.
