"I am TACHRC CIC, born from a deep-seated recognition of the stark inequalities that persist in cancer care. Here in Frimley and across the UK, ethnic minority communities often face a tougher battle against cancer due to delayed diagnosis, cultural barriers, and a lack of tailored support. Simultaneously, the challenges in Bangladesh, where resources are stretched thin, paint a picture of a desperate need for improved care.

Our team is a collective of passionate individuals – some with lived experience of these disparities, others with professional backgrounds in public health, community development, and spearheaded by our Founder, Dr. Tasmia Tahmid. Dr. Tahmid brings a unique and invaluable perspective, working as a Consultant Breast Surgeon within the NHS and dedicating her expertise to improving care in Bangladesh through Tasmia Tahmid Breast Care. This direct clinical experience on both fronts fuels our commitment and ensures our strategies are grounded in real-world needs.

Our idea is to directly address these inequalities through tangible solutions. In the UK, we are developing community cancer clinics within underserved areas to provide accessible information, early detection support, and culturally sensitive guidance. To overcome geographical barriers and enhance access to expertise, we are also developing a Telehealth app that will connect patients with vital resources and support. For Bangladesh, our vision is to empower local healthcare professionals through training and provide access to essential diagnostic equipment.

The money we raise will directly fuel these initiatives:

• In the UK: Funds will support the establishment and operation of our community cancer clinics, the development and rollout of our Telehealth app, the creation of multilingual resources, the training of community navigators, and the establishment of culturally relevant support groups.
• In Bangladesh: Your contributions will fund crucial training programs, enable the purchase of essential diagnostic tools, and support pilot programs aimed at making cancer care more accessible.
