WHO
We are a church who exist to bring life to the City of Plymouth, love for the unloved and hope for those who need it.
Our most well-known project is the Children's Storehouse, which has been running for 12 years and provides good quality children and baby equipment for those in need. Before covid it had a drop in twice a week where parents and children were able to enjoy playtime together and access practical support. Last year we served 153 families from a wide variety of backgrounds, and passed on over 900 items of quality children's clothing, equipment, bedding and toys to some of the most vulnerable families in Plymouth.
We also ran the Uniform Store Plymouth over the summer, which served hundreds of families with free second hand uniform. We hope to continue this as a click and collect throughout the year, and reopen the shop in the summer of 2021.
WHAT
We have to move out of our existing premises in March, which were not suitable for the range of services that we want to provide to the city and how we want to serve some of the poorest communities in the city post-covid. We have found a new premises in a great location, which will not only bring an empty city centre shop into reuse, supporting physical regeneration, but will also enable us to expand existing community projects such as the Children's Storehouse, and grow new projects, such as mental health training through our new Mosaic project. In fact, we want to create a space that we can use for wide range of needs, including initiatives such as Uniform Store Plymouth that has a particular focus on addressing child poverty, as well as: office space to coordinate our outreach and church activities; community meeting, workshop and worship space; a live broadcasting studio so we can provide on-line services and events for the community; and space that we can make available for other community focussed projects led by other agencies and groups.
HOW
This is where you come in. We need sufficient funds to be able to start-up the new Vineyard Centre and get it established. Most of the money we raise will be used to go towards refurbishment and equipping, including furniture, equipment and a live broadcasting studio. Also, to help us get established as we build a sustainable funding model, some of the money will help us meet the first year’s rent.
