We are inviting supporters to do '5K your way' - to support people affected by PANS and PANDAS across Scotland.
Paediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS)
Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal infections (PANDAS)
PANS, and its better-known sub-condition, PANDAS, are believed to be the result of a misdirected immune response to a pathogenic trigger (for example chickenpox, tonsillitis, or covid-19), leading to the abrupt onset of a range of challenging neuropsychiatric symptoms. For some the conditions are episodic (coming and going with onset of triggers). For others, the symptoms are chronic (unrelenting with me).
Children affected by PANS often can't participate in the activities they used to enjoy - for a whole host of reasons such as pain, fatigue, sensory issues, anxiety, and many more. They will adapt and do things in a way that suits them.
Through the summer school holidays, we are inviting our supporters to do something 'their way' to support PANS+ Scotland. It can be adapted to whatever suits you.
Here are some ideas to get you started:

Anyone who raises over £20 will receive a PANS+ Scotland 5K your way medal.
All funds raised will support the work of PANS+ Scotland - raising awareness of PANS across the general public, politicians, and health, education and social work professionals, as we push for better awareness and recognition of these conditions.
