We urgently need help to raise funds to transform our worn out courts to enable us to survive as a community tennis club.

We are a small, family‑friendly tennis club based in the coastal town of Southport, with just over 50 members. Our club sits within a vibrant multi‑sports venue alongside football and cricket, creating a welcoming hub for the whole community.
For 130 years, we have taken pride in serving our local area. We are an inclusive, community‑focused club powered by a passionate team of volunteers who work hard to make tennis accessible to everyone. Our members currently range from ages 5 to 85 and we warmly welcome individuals with physical disabilities, mental health conditions, and learning disabilities.
We believe that tennis should be enjoyed by all. We are dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every person regardless of their age, experience, or ability can enjoy the physical, social, and wellbeing benefits that tennis provides.

Our tennis courts were last resurfaced over twenty years ago and are now reaching the end of their usable life. During the winter months, three courts are unusable, and all courts are prone to flooding, limiting access and creating safety concerns. To continue exist as a club and serving our community, resurfacing is essential.
We do not have sufficient funds to complete this work independently, so we are crowdfunding to modernise our courts and create a safe, high‑quality playing environment. These improvements will allow year‑round use and help encourage more people in our community to become active.

Every penny raised through crowdfunding will go directly towards resurfacing our five tennis courts. The total cost of the project is £100,000, which covers the supply and installation of new, high‑quality playing surfaces.
We plan to use a UK‑made artificial grass surface and employ a local contractor to carry out the work. This helps reduce transport and shipping costs, lowers environmental impact, and ensures the money raised supports local jobs and businesses.
By investing in a durable, all‑weather surface, we can cut down on ongoing maintenance costs and provide safe, reliable courts that our community can enjoy all year round. This upgrade will secure the future of the club and ensure our courts remain welcoming, accessible, and fit for use for the next 15–20 years.

This project will create a safe, welcoming space where more people in our community can be active all year round. Resurfacing the courts will remove safety issues and allow us to offer more inclusive activities for people of all ages and abilities.
The upgraded courts will help reduce isolation and inactivity, particularly for older adults, through gentle, social sessions like walking tennis. Women and girls will also benefit from increased opportunities to take part through programmes such as LTA Amazon Prime Girls’ Tennis, delivered in a supportive and confidence‑building environment.
By donating, whatever the amount big or small our supporters will help create a lasting community facility that improves health, wellbeing, and social connection for years to come.
There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
