A taped banana became art. NFTs became fortunes. What happens when humans create value together? ✨
What Happens When Thousands of People Give £1 for Nothing?
A banana taped to a wall became art.
NFTs became fortunes.
So here's a question:
What happens when thousands of people willingly give £1 for Nothing?
Nobody knows.
That's the experiment.
And that's exactly why we're curious enough to try it.
Why This Exists
£1 for Nothing was born on a delivery route.
I did a two-day trial as a delivery driver. Twenty years of driving experience, and I gave it everything. It took twice as long as expected. There wasn't even time to stop for a toilet break. Then I saw the pay. It was a joke.
It made me ask: how many of our systems quietly need someone to lose?
This experiment is the opposite: a system where everyone wins.
Why £1?
Because £1 represents ONE.
Not one alone, but one of many.
One heartbeat in a shared rhythm.
One as unity.
One choice, made by thousands.
One act of generosity.
One shared intention.
One tiny ripple with the potential to become a wave.
When the ones come together, they become something no one could create alone.
And because something fascinating happens when we add zeros.
£1 becomes £10.
£10 becomes £100.
£100 becomes £1,000.
£1,000 becomes £10,000.
The zero appears to be nothing.
Yet without it, expansion cannot happen.
This experiment celebrates both:
The power of ONE and the infinite potential hidden within NOTHING.
How It Works
✨ Donate £1.
✨ Your name becomes part of a collaborative artwork.
✨ Invite three curious humans.
✨ Watch the story unfold.
Artist, art lover, or simply a curious human who's never picked up a brush: everyone is welcome. ART lives in every heART. ❤️
That's it.
No secret handshake.
No decoder ring.
No need to sacrifice a goat under a full moon. 🤭
Just £1, curiosity, and a willingness to play.
Where Your £1 Goes
✨ After Crowdfunder's fees, most of every pound goes to the WhizzARTs (artists, art teachers and community creators who host creation days) to fund materials.
✨ The rest covers running the experiment and finishing the final piece. Every penny in and out is shared openly, with regular updates for everyone who leaves their email.
✨ Every contributor's name is woven into the artwork.
✨ On World Art Day 2028, the finished artwork will be auctioned, with 100% of the auction going to a cause our Founding Co-creators vote for.
Want to Found It? £23
£1 to co-create. £23 to found. As easy as 1, 2, 3. ✨
Pledge £23 or more and you become a Founding Co-creator: your full name (first name and surname) in a prominent spot in the artwork, behind-the-scenes updates and a vote on which cause the auction supports.
The Bigger Vision
£1 for Nothing was born from a simple question:
Can we create a win-win-win world where artists, supporters, communities, and charities all benefit together?
Instead of competing for value, what if we created value together?
What if generosity itself became a creative force?
Money is simply the paintbrush.
The real artwork is the story we create collectively.
Expression is the opposite of depression.

Want to Do More Than £1?
If you're an artist, art teacher, art lover, school, art college or community space and would love to host a creation day as a WhizzART, or you're a technologist, a curious human, or someone who feels this in their bones and wants to help build it, we'd love to hear from you. Co-founder, collaborator, or curious helper: there's a place for you in the story. ✨
PLAy & The WhizzARTs ✨
💌 Leave your email if you'd like updates about the artwork and the progress of the experiment. No spam. Just the unfolding story.
After all, the real artwork may not only be the painting.
It may be the ripple effect we create together. ✨
P.S. £1 is the official entry ticket to the experiment.
However, should a rogue Bitcoin, a wandering fortune, or an unusually generous act of abundance decide to join the adventure, we would welcome it with gratitude, curiosity, and a slightly stunned expression. 🤭✨
