I run a small company (it's just me!) putting on exciting alternative events. I'm based in Cornwall but have plans to help organize some events further afield next year.
Things have been going well - I've never worked so hard in my life and I'm absolutely loving it. As I dress my own events and create a lot of the decor, I needed a workshop space for this, plus storage for it all. As I've been working at Heartlands a lot it seemed the perfect place to take a studio space to use as my HQ - an office to work from and meet clients, storage, plus room for creating stuff and running workshops too. A creative hub!
This is all very exciting, but the untreated concrete floor isn't ideal and I'd love to get some vinyl put down to make the place a bit more inviting, warm, and less dusty! However as a new startup I don't expect to have the funds for this for a few more months yet. I'd also like to paint the shop front, and get some nice sign writing in the window to entice people in, maybe some plants. A fridge for milk and cake (come round for coffee!). Everything else is being sourced from my house/freecycle/charity shops and so on.
