Through the ‘Greener Future Fund’ we are supporting voluntary and not-for-profit groups and organisations in the district that are helping to create cohesive, sustainable, healthy and resilient communities in Winchester.

The Greener Future Fund supports not-for-profit organisations in the district that can demonstrate how their work helps achieve one or more of the funding themes: transport, energy, properties and behavioural changes.

You need a crowdfunding project to apply for funding. Start or continue adding your project and, if eligible, you'll be prompted to apply.

Criteria

You may be eligible for match funding of up to 50% of your crowdfund target (max £2,000) from the Crowdfund Winchester - Greener Future Fund: Creating A Greener District. Before completing your application for match-funding please read the accompanying guidance notes Read here.

Essential criteria
  • Be located in Winchester district
  • Benefit communities and residents based in the Winchester district
  • Demonstrate how your project helps achieve one or more of the funding themes: Transport, Energy, Properties, Behavioural changes. Please read more on funding themes here
  • Provide estimates of agreed expenditure
  • Be a not for profit group/ organisation with a constitution and formal decision-making process
  • Comply with the relevant permissions/ licensing/ insurance/ documentation (constitution)/ policies
  • Achieve 25% of the fundraising target (from 10 individual supporters) in order to qualify for a pledge from the Greener Futures Fund
  • Acknowledge the financial support of the council in its documentation and publicity material Read here

We are unable to fund
  • Basic websites
  • Student expeditions
  • Local or national appeals
  • Capital or project activities of a statutory nature
  • Replacement or ˝like for like˝ equipment/items
  • Costs associated with fundraising activities, events and campaigns etc.
  • Applicants who have received project funding in the previous financial year
  • General running costs e.g. rent or living costs such as bills, deposits and rates
  • Curriculum based school activities and play areas (e.g. public playground equipment)
  • Repeat activities / projects and retrospective funding of activities/projects/equipment
  • Activities wholly and exclusively political or religious in nature, or organisations supporting political activism
  • Any applicants with a debt outstanding to the council or are in breach of any regulation or licences etc. will not be considered
