We're starting small, but this is only the beginning! The busier Munch becomes, the greater the profits, which means even more workshops! 100% of our profit is used to fund our community cookery workshops, teaching children how to cook, giving them skills that will last a lifetime
We've established Munch as a means of establishing funding for workshops run within the local community, teaching children how to cook - the basics of nutrition, what goes into their food, and how to put together a wonderfully tasty, healthy, dish that they've made themselves.
We're based in the cafe in Unit 12 Community Centre in Winchester, where we've been putting together a core menu of firm favourites such as Breakfast Burritos, Quesadillas, all sorts of lovely cakes as well as locally roasted coffee, served in our fully compostable Butterfly Cups. We also work with the food charity FareShare UK, helping to prevent supermarket surplus from going to landfill, in our daily changing specials that are made from whatever comes in that day - every day is Ready Steady Cook in our kitchen!
We have a regular client base already, who keep on being tempted back by the lovely food on offer, and we expect to get busier once the lockdown restrictions are lifted and people are allowed to dine inside. We're looking for funding to cover our core costs as we get established

Richard has been in catering his whole life, most recently as head chef of FirstBite CIC. He trains our Kickstart apprentices, giving them a full and rounded understanding of all the different elements of the catering and hospitality industry.
