New stretch target

Help us fulfill our 'goals' for Devonport Sport for All... Our stretch target if successful is to also fund various types of goal posts, nets and other essential equipment to ensure that a wider variety of sports and a more diverse group from our community can use this facility.

Many people simply do not have the opportunity to take part in sport and fitness activities in our community here in Devonport in the west of Plymouth. There are many barriers to this, one of them being the lack of opportunities and resources close to home when compared to other parts of Plymouth.

It is essential for the community of Devonport, and the city of Plymouth as a whole, that all generations have good-quality, year-round resources available for physical activity in order to have a positive impact on their health, well-being and happiness.

In 2013 we built our first all-weather pitch and launched our Sport For All community programme to improve access to sport and fitness for the wider community. Five years on and this has been an incredible success with the community participating in both sport and social activities using the school’s facilities seven days a week and late into the evenings. Demand is so high that we are oversubscribed with groups of people ranging from toddlers to veterans wanting to use our facilities (DHSB has an amazing range of facilities on offer to the community, just take a look at our website to see them all and find more).

With the ever-increasing demand from our community and not enough time or space to accommodate them all, the time has come to fundraise to create another all-weather facility. This new outdoor pitch will provide opportunities for a wider range of sporting activities such as hockey and tennis in addition to providing more opportunities for sports such as football.

We hope that you will get behind our project to support the current and future students at our school and the wider community of Plymouth, particularly families living in our nearby districts: Devonport, Stoke and Stonehouse.

You can help us by pledging as much as you’d like, anything from £2 to £2000 check out the rewards. Please click on a pledge to donate some money and please share our campaign with everyone you know so we can give more people the opportunity to experience the joy and unity that sport can offer.
