Christmas Tree for Gipsy Hill
We did it
On 19th October 2020 we successfully raised £3,080 with 57 supporters in 35 days

Help us to fund our first community Christmas Tree for Gipsy Hill

by Friends of Gipsy Hill in London, England, United Kingdom

 New stretch target

Additional funds will help allow us to light up other parts of the Station Garden, and allow us to dress the local area in festive spruce, as well as supporting the local area in what could be another difficult time for many locally.

At present we are supporting Christ Church deliver meals to the people of SE19 through their Open Door Kitchen.

As the days draw in and the evenings lengthen, we reflect as this year comes to an end and we look to the new year as a time of hope for our community. We think of light shining out in the dark evenings and a tree as a focal point to bring the community together. Please support us in funding our first community Christmas tree. The Friends of Gipsy Hill and Lambeth Council have already installed a dedicated Christmas tree ‘pit’ on Gipsy Hill with a power supply for tree lighting. To make our tree special, we want local individuals, families and businesses to contribute and to send us their own messages of hope, wishes, reflections which we will make for you and secure around the tree.  As part of the celebration, we are organising Yuletide Carols (covid secure) from Palace Acapella, Christ Church singers, and more (broadcast via the internet too). We also have the Norwood Gipsies Pantomine being performed for the first time on home soil.

Join us for a heart-warming drink at the Great Southern, Colby Arms or The Bull and Finch.

We are asking for your messages of hope, wishes, reflections and your donation will cover our costs to print, laminate, and tie with ribbons to decorate the tree so others can see the Gipsy Hill community spirit.  You can also sponsor a 3D printed bauble and add your message to the ribbon tag.  Local businesses can place messages on special banners around the tree.

Suggested donations are shown as rewards. If we meet target, additional funds will help allow us to light up parts of the Station Garden, and allow us to dress the local area in festive spruce, as well as supporting the local area in what could be another difficult time for many locally.
