Creative community youth group needs new home

Save creative youth group from closing its doors to the community unless rent found for meeting/workshop space

My name is Jackie and I have been a voluntary youth leader for over 10 years for a youth group called Ablaze based in Preston, UK. The youth group was established in 1998 and has been volunteer run with the help of various funding bids over the years. We have had various meeting places, mostly free as we contribute a lot to the local community. A few years ago we applied for a bigger pot of funding so we could expand our skill sharing into a wider community and started renting our own space in Oyston Mill in Preston. We have just passed our 20th anniversary and have had to hand our notice for our studio/workshop space as we can no longer afford to pay the rising rent and other costs.

We are hoping any money we raise can go towards a few months rent on a new space so we can get back on our feet again. After 20 years, we are in danger of having to sell or possibly destroy everything we have created and the group will close.

This project successfully funded on 28th January 2019
