We are Wingate and Finchley FC, a semi-professional football club run solely by our team of volunteers. We are the most senior club within the Borough of Barnet and currently play in the Isthmian Premier League (at Step 3 of the Non-League Pyramid, just below the National League).

Our ethos is to provide a professional setting in a semi-pro environment. We are proud of the opportunities we have provided for players, coaches, administrators, groundsmen, physios and those in media to develop full time football careers or to simply enjoy their hobbies at their local football club.

Tracing our roots back to 1874, we are a Club at the heart of our community and give local children from the age of 7 a pathway into semi-professional and professional football. We also have dedicated disability and mental health programmes and aim to bring positivity into people’s lives through sport and social inclusion, aspiring to the motto on the badge of our shirts – Amicitias Per Ludis: Friendship Through Sport. This has never been more important.

We are aiming to raise £10,000 to assist Wingate & Finchley Football Club. That money will go towards us sustaining our community-led football projects, improving the services we currently provide and will go a small way towards changing lives and bringing positivity to what has been a tough time for everyone.

Coronovirus has had a terrible impact on society as a whole and as a football club we are sadly not immune to its effects. Unfortunately significant reductions to our key revenue streams has hit us hard, as we strive to continue to give back to the local community.

When the season suddenly came to a halt, the income from both football and the use of our amazing facilities also ended. Unfortunately, the emergency funding by the Football Association and Premier League to lower levels of football have only found their way to National League clubs and above - it has not come lower down the Pyramid (ie to our level) and that leaves us in a difficult financial position. We are therefore appealing to our fans, the local community and the non-league family to help us bridge the financial losses we are suffering.

How can you help?

  • Donate if you can, and claim a Reward in the process.  Every penny counts and would be greatly appreciated
  • Spread the word and share this page on social media
  • Ask your family or employers to support their local club in need
  • Contact us to volunteer and get involved with your local football club

We hope you can help us with this aim and would be incredibly grateful for any support.

In keeping with our ethos, we want to ensure that the kindness and generosity of our donors is rewarded. This appeal therefore offers a range of excellent opportunities such as matchday hospitality and signed and framed shirts. The full list of Rewards can be seen on the right-hand side (or below if using a phone).

We know that the pandemic is far greater than football and we want to do our bit for society through our Club. The work of the NHS has never been more valued than it is today and they are true heroes with the work they are doing and the lives they are saving.

To show our support for the NHS, for every £10 raised in our crowdfunding campaign, we will be donating one match ticket for the 2020/21 season to NHS staff.
