Wilbur’s birthday bash and big heart campaign

Aim

Wilbur and his friends are raising money to provide a defibrillator for the residents of Ruddington

Ruddington is a thriving village with a big heart. Residents have a strong community spirit and their love for Wilbur runs deep. We have adopted him as our village cat and he roams the streets, businesses and homes of many, and occasionally makes it home too to his official owner Cathy.

In honour of Wilburs 10th Birthday the village are throwing him a party and raising money to buy a new defibrillator (AED) for the village.

Ruddington is a large village and being in close proximity of an AED is vital. If a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival rates jump from 6 per cent to 74 per cent. 

Most AEDs are in locked cabinets where an access code is required to unlock it. These codes are provided by the emergency services, but only if you are in between 200-500 meters of a machine. Our proposed AED will ensure that almost all of the village will be within this range which will have a direct impact on saving lives.
