The Big Twyford Tree Planting Project
Our idea...
The idea for this project started after feeling disillusioned by all the negative news about our environment. We decided that feeling bad about it wasn't helping anyone so why not do something constructive about it?
Our idea is to re-wild the area of Stanlake meadow which borders the copse at the far end of the playing fields. Its a large area which at present is empty grassland. We would like to involve as many members of our community as possible as its the Twyford residents who will benefit from the project.

The image above shows the meadow now on 28th July 2020 after we have left the grass to grow ... Wildlife returning.
The Big Planting day
All money we receive for this project will be used to buy trees to be planted this November 2020. Our aim is to hold a Planting day on 28th November this year, in which anyone who has bought a tree or in fact anyone who is passionate about the woodland is invited to join us in Stanlake Meadow for a Big Twyford planting session.
The Future of the Stanlake Copse
It goes without saying that this project will just be the start for the newly replanted Stanlake Copse. It is our hope that we can build on our ideas of 2020 year on year and create a place where children and adults alike can come and enjoy the outdoors for generations to come.
