Overview

A relatable, heartfelt (yet crude) comedy written by 3 girls trying to make it as young adults - 'The Railway’ is based on their own experiences of London life; working in pubs alongside university studies. Situated at everyones local, this scatty mockumentary style sitcom gives insight of the twisted goings on of the all encompassing modern-day essence of British Pub Culture.

Why now?

As one of the hardest hit due to coronavirus (uni-life & hospitality), and with ever growing loss of independent businesses as well as the foreshadowing of Brexit - this programme is an ode to the younger generation, bar-life & non-chain hospitality. 

Whilst holding on to the essence of British Pub culture, this ‘London Pub’ also encapsulates all cultures and walks of life that epitomise bar life in the big city. By encompassing, it reflects a somewhat microcosm of a world where we all work in harmony and go through bumps and struggles together.

Our journey together into the industry has been a fun, messy and interesting one! With 3 of us technically 'unrepresented' writers (coming from non-film industry backgrounds) we have found difficulty getting our script noticed due to production company policies of not accepting 'unsolicited' material. Getting over this hurdle, we decided to roll with our amazing idea, reach out for extended support and self-shoot our pilot. So here we are!
