To help my local community shop with as little impact on the environment as possible, keeping single use plastic consumption to a minimum.
ABOUT ME
Hello, I’m Kate, Nottingham lass born and bred. Here I am with my husband Gav and my two daughters Kitty and Nancy.

WHY
After a varied and interesting career over the last 20 years, I have worked as a PA for smaller, family owned businesses and most recently for a multinational corporate as well as running our family owned local produce restaurant. Whilst all of it has been fun and rewarding, I’ve now decided it’s time to leave the rat race behind and to put my efforts into making a difference with the help of my local community.
It’s becoming so obvious that things need to change to make this planet a better place and reducing the need for single use plastic is a good place to start. I’m considerably behind in beginning my journey to caring for the world in the way it deserves, but I’m trying my best. Part of my mission is to find alternatives to the plastic laden groceries most of our society purchases for convenience and as a parent, I have a vision for the kind of world I want my children to grow up in and the Good Weigh will help to make that a reality to the people of Lady Bay and it's surrounding areas.
I have already secured the premises for the shop which is situated in the heart of our busy community, Lady Bay, Nottingham. I now need to fulfil my dream and make it happen!

THE GOOD WEIGH AIM
The new store will make it easier for the community to join me by making some small steps to make a big difference to the environment and a community we can be proud of. By making zero waste shopping simple, we can work together in creating a healthier planet.
By choosing to shop some or all our everyday groceries at the store the community are casting a vote for the kind of world they wish to live in. Surely, we all want that world to be sustainable, cleaner and thriving for our children and future generations.
OUR MISSION
Helping the local community to make a positive impact on the environment.
