The Youth Vote Uk is social campaign launched by Alexander Cairns, a final year management student, with a passion for UK Politics.
After seeing many of his age demographic not Vote during the local council elections 2017, EU referendum 2016 and General Election in 2015, Alex decided to launch this campaign to try and engage young individuals within the 18-24 age bracket, in Uk politics.
The campaign can be found on twitter and Facebook @TheYouthVoteUk. The main goals of the campaign between now and the 8th June are:
-Reduce the level of 18-24 year olds not currently registered to vote, which currently stands at around 900,000 (ONS, 2017)
-From a non bias standpoint , break down and inform young voters of key party policies
-Create youth manifesto documents to engage young individuals on policies that matter to them.
-To visit universities and colleges to speak to students within the age demographic of the importance of voting and creating a positive narrative around UK politics.
The funds will be spent on getting to different Universities, campaign materials, campaign videos and paying for volunteers to join Alex on the tour in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England.
We hope that you can get behind this important campaign.
