To raise funds to ensure that The Thunderbolt can re-open with a full music programme when COVID restrictions have been lifted.
The Thunderbolt is part of a national initiative by Music Venue Trust to prevent the closure of independent venues throughout the UK.
Our future is very uncertain due to the challenges presented by COVID-19. We had to close our venue in March 2020 to help contain the spread of the virus. Since then, we have been unable to re-open as the current social distancing requirements only allow a handful of people to attend our gigs, which is financially unsustainable.
Any funds raised will be used to cover our fixed costs e.g. mortgage, utilities, repairs etc. If we exceed our target and can ensure our survival, any surplus will be donated to Music Venue Trust to help other venues in similar difficulty.
