Kids and the creative industries have been hit hard by the current collective crisis, with schools and arts venues across the UK forced to close for indefinite periods, and children restricted from interacting with their peers.
We want to support the younger generation with their transition back to 'normal' life by providing a haven for children to unleash their creativity in a dynamic and nurturing space. In doing so, we hope that they will discover a strong sense of self, feeling connected by creativity to their common humanity, so they will blossom into free-thinking adults.
WELCOME TO THE IMAGINATION STATION: LAUNCHING APRIL 2021
We’re excited to launch these monthly two-hour freeflow sessions to reunite children of all ages following extended periods of isolation.
We believe that development of the imagination is integral to learning, critical thought and neuroplasticity. Children will be encouraged to explore various activity stations, overseen by guest art facilitators, to create collages, crafts, clay sculptures, paint canvases, colour mandalas, explore textures, develop techniques and enjoy hands-on fun supported by a range of interactive activities.
WEDNESDAY SESSIONS: FOR PRE-SCHOOLERS & HOME ED’ERS
Beginning with monthly Wednesday morning sessions (commencing April 21), pre-school and home educated children will be encouraged, through art, to express their emotions, explore the beauty of nature, enjoy multi-sensory experiences and make new friends: all stimulating tools to relieve stress and anxiety, increase self-esteem, build confidence and improve hand-eye coordination.
KIDS’ SUMMER EXHIBITION AT WEST ACRE GALLERY
The school year will culminate with an all-inclusive children’s summer exhibition at West Acre Gallery, open to the public for 7 days, in which children of all ages will be invited to showcase their favourite creations.
FUTURE LAUNCH: SCHOOL HOLIDAY PROGRAMMES
Following this initial launch, we aim to make holiday programmes available for school children in the no-too-distant future.
HOW WE WILL USE THE FUNDS
The funds we aim to raise through our Crowdfunder will help to purchase disposable art materials such as paints, pencils, paper, glue, pastels, brushes, markers, clay and mini canvases (all washable and non-toxic).
This money will also contribute to the kids’ summer art exhibition, to cover the costs of venue hire, marketing material, custom merchandise, picture frames and the exhibition’s open day refreshments.
Please donate today and help us kindle kids’ imaginations and ignite the artists within.
